Course Description
In this advanced, hands-on, 2-day class, you will learn about the key features of session-aware load balance cluster (SLBC) and the FortiGate 7000 chassis-based firewall series. Topics include product architecture, as well as system configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
Who Should Attend
Networking and security professionals involved in the management, configuration, administration, and monitoring of FortiGate 7000 series devices should attend this course.This course is focused on describing the unique features in a FortiGate 7000 chassis. For this reason, this course assumes knowledge of FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer fundamentals. Participants should have a thorough understanding of all the topics covered in the FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure courses, before attending the this course.

- Knowledge of firewall concepts in an IPv4 network
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of FortiGate, as presented in the FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure courses

Objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Describe the SLBC architecture and key components
- Understand the FortiGate 7000 chassis-based solution and architecture, and identify key differences with other SLBC products
- Identify and configure the management options available, including out-of-band and in-band methods
- Explore the system management module (SMM)
- Understand packet flow, session creation, and the different load balancing methods
- Understand and configure supported high availability (HA) modes
- Identify key differences in NAT and transparent mode operation when compared to regular FortiGate devices
- Deploy SSL VPN and IPsec VPN
- Identify key differences in firewall authentication when compared to regular FortiGate devices
- Integrate the chassis with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer

If you take an online format of this class, you must have a computer that has the following:

- HTML 5 support or
- An up-to-date Java Runtime Environment (JRE) with Java plugin enabled in your web browser
You should use a wired Ethernet connection, not a WiFi connection. Firewalls, including Windows Firewall or FortiClient, must allow connections to the online labs.
